Types of Compounded Therapies
Hormone Therapy for Women and Men
Compounded Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) uses active ingredients that are identical to the hormones your body naturally produces. Over time and with the introduction of certain illnesses, your body’s ability to produce adequate levels of these hormones declines. Compounded Hormone Replacement Therapy has improved the quality of life for millions of women and men around the world.

We specialize in the art of compounding customized Hormone Replacement Therapy options for women and men. Hormone Replacement Therapy uses combinations of estrogens, progesterone, and testosterone depending on your symptoms, lab results and physician’s specifications. These combinations are then compounded into dosage forms that you and your physician find appropriate. For example, hormone combinations can be compounded into creams/gels, capsules, troches, suppositories, sublingual drops, injections, etc.
In addition to compounding the medications, Sharzad Green, Pharm. D., our hormone replacement specialist and pharmacist, offers private Hormone Replacement Consultations to find a tailored solution that fits your needs. Sharzad has had the privilege of working with over 6,000 patients and providers in the Valley and around the world.

Thyroid Dysfunction
The thyroid gland is a butterfly shape gland located in your neck that is responsible for releasing the thyroid hormone. The two major forms of the thyroid hormone are- Triiodothyronine (T3) and Thyroxine (T4). The thyroid gland initially releases Thyroxine (T4), then the body converts the hormone to Triiodothyronine (T3). The thyroid hormone is responsible for regulating body temperature and controlling metabolism, and is imperative to balancing hormones in women and men. Thyroid problems are primarily defined by two major thyroid dysfunctions: hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism.
Hypothyroidism is more common, and is defined by the thyroid not releasing adequate amounts of the thyroid hormone.
Hypothyroidism Symptoms: increased weight gain, fatigue, dry hair and skin, hair loss, memory fog, depression, constipation, low sex drive, intolerance to cold temperatures, and menstrual cycle changes.
Hypothyroidism Treatments: Compounded T3 and T4 formulations, compounded desiccated thyroid, synthetic T4 (Levothyroxine), Armour Thyroid, Westhroid, and Nature-Throid
Hyperthyroidism is less common and is defined by the thyroid releasing too much thyroid hormone.
Hyperthyroidism Symptoms: heart palpitations, weight loss, skin dryness, increased anxiety, light periods, hand tremors, and fatigue.
Hyperthyroidism Treatments: Anti-thyroid medications (ex. Methimazole), iodine therapy, or surgery.
We offer all of the above compounded and commercial hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism medication treatment options. We also accept most major insurance plans and can ship your medications directly to your home.

Adrenal Fatigue
Adrenal glands (Suprarenal glands) sit on top of your kidneys and secrete essential hormones to life. They are responsible for releasing hormones that control your body: fight or flight responses, sex steroids(needed for reproduction), and cortisol (stress) and water retention. Over time and with the introduction of stress the adrenals experience fatigue, and can cause you to feel fatigued and experience a number of other symptoms.
Common Adrenal Fatigue Symptoms: fatigue throughout the day, tired even after adequate sleep, low sex drive, weakened immune system, asthma, allergies, inability to cope with stressful situations, dry skin, lower back pain, poor circulation.
Community Clinical Pharmacy offers a variety of supplements and compounded medications that can help restore optimal adrenal function. In addition to medication options, Sharzad Green, Pharm D. offers testing options and private consultations on Adrenal Fatigue.

One treatment option is compounded Tri-Mix (Prostaglandin, Papaverine, Phentolamine) injections. This medication is a powerful combination of three vasodilators (Prostaglandin, Papaverine, Phentolamine) that are injected directly into the corpus cavernosum (side of the penis-between the base and the middle of the penis). Tri-Mix is an affordable erectile dysfunction treatment option for men no longer responding to traditional therapies.
The pharmacists at Community Clinical Pharmacy developed a method to freeze dry Tri- Mix ingredients (Prostaglandin, Papaverine, Phentolamine) without compromising the active ingredients or strength. This form of Tri-Mix can be stored at room temperature (and mailed anywhere in Arizona) until the patient is ready to use it. We are the only pharmacy in the area that is compounding Lyophilized Tri-Mix at this time.
